Senior International Business HR Advisor, London
As Senior International HR Business Advisor, you will be accountable for providing advice to the business on HR and tax implications of expanding in international markets encompassing corporate tax, personal tax, and indirect tax implications, and considering International Assignment implications (led by the International Assignments HR adviser).
Specific points of your role will include
* Contact the business to gain a clear understanding of the potential international activity (eg project/overseas recruitment)
* Brief the International HR team and the Group Tax team (corporate and personal) to enable them to carry out the necessary research for their area of expertise
* Follow up with Group Tax team on a regular basis to ensure they have all the information needed to carry out their research and ensures that they have a clear understanding of priorities and deadlines
* Upon receipt of the initial tax research from Group Tax team, collaborate with them to reach an agreed recommendation for the set-up/structure of the international activities including any tax planning if appropriate (personal tax planning would be carried out in collaboration with the International Assignments HR Advisor)
* Prepare a cost estimate for the project (if the project involves sending individuals overseas on assignment then the assignment cost estimate would be managed by the International Assignments HR Advisor to ensure compliance with policy)
* Summarise corporate/personal tax research and the set-up, structure, implications and cost into the report consolidating it with the information received from the International Assignment HR advisor (Terms and Conditions / Immigration)
* Present the completed report to the wider International HR team to ensure the consolidated advice is workable as an overall solution and obtains the necessary approvals
* Carry out briefings with the key stakeholders (commercial, legal, finance, bid team, ops).
* Complete corporate approval forms as and when required and issues for approval by the International HR Manager, the Group Tax team and the Finance Director.
* Updates the finance department regularly on any new/upcoming overseas activities
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of corporate, expatriate or personal tax and have the ability to analyse and interpret tax information and use this to provide appropriate advice.
